About Maryland AI Safety Initiative

Maryland AI Safety Initiative is a student-led community at the University of Maryland focused on learning, collaboration, and responsible development of powerful AI systems. We bring together students interested in both technical AI alignment research and broader questions around governance, policy, and societal impact.

Through discussions, reading groups, workshops, and projects, we help members build strong fundamentals while connecting with others who care deeply about safe and beneficial AI.
